The ice – you don’t need to wait til winter in Tassie. A girl went walking on the Overland Track from Cradle mountain between Christmas & New Year a few years ago when a sudden snow storm hit. She disappeared. Apparently wasn’t prepared. It can regularly snow down to sea level too.
