thanks for the tip luke… FF is going great guns at the moment… there’s just some apply-type-hype over safari at the moment – so i thought i’d give them a chance… so far – safari 4 is nice – but i think i like ff better.

Hard core mac user from way back here. I love Safari but have been a FF convert for a while now – especially for blogging. I’m not sure memory use is really a major concern for most computers these days with 1GB+ of RAM (not me tho’). I think Safari is pretty but you can get skins for FF to look the same. Oh well?!?

at the moment safari is using more memory than ff ever did!!

P.S anonymous – I realise that it does process RSS – it just can’t do it the way that firefox does – with an easy drop down menu in the bookmark bar. If you can show me how to make a live bookmark like that – then I’ll go across to safari and give it another go

hello, it’s anonymous guy again, I’ve just read the comment from “samr”.
Safari does do live bookmarks but I could only explain how to use them (it’s not hard) if you were on a mac. Again, I’d suggest using safari help. They’re definitely there!! Enjoy

I downloaded it last week, used it for a day and then went back to firefox – it doesn’t do live bookmarks – which is how I do RSS for the blogs I read most. (yes Dave – one of those is yours…) Unless I’m missing something, I couldn’t make Safari do it.

However, Firefox has been freezing on me a lot lately – so I am in the mood for something new…

try safari help and type in “shortcuts”. If you were on a mac, I could give you them all, but you’re sadly not.
I’ve been using safari for years now and love it. This new beta version is slightly better. Before the beta arrival, Firefox (for the mac) was known as far better (I couldn’t get used to it) but I think it’s now comparable. Enjoy
