The game they play in heaven

Football (also known as Soccer) and not Rugby Union is ‘the game they play in heaven’. This post has been prompted by some big matches about to be played (Australia vs Qatar, QLD Roar vs Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners vs Newcastle Jets) and a proper understanding of the Bible.

every tribe language people nation

Rugby Union is an ugly distortion of the ‘beautiful game‘. Based on Revelation 5:9-10, I believe that there won’t be a Tri-Nations Rugby Union tournament between the 3 Rugby playing countries in heaven, but rather a full-blown Football World Cup with participants from “every tribe and language and people and nation”. Soccer is for all nations. Jesus is for all nations.

However, the cheering at moments like these is but a soft whisper compared to the glorious cheering at this moment.

AFL is the game the elect play! It is foolishness for some but for those who have been enlightened it is pure wisdom and joy!

it would need to be WFL.

there are elect from every nation.

unless you’re suggesting that all the elect from round the world are “true australia”

it was a fairly loose connection… but hey…

can’t wait till the Jets finish off the mariners…

    finish off the mariners???

    whatever you reckon!!

but you do realise… that if the jets pulled off a shock victory and made it into the GF first, then the mariners would ‘gun’ them down in the grand final by even more!!

    bring it on!

Headball (soccer) fans are the most obnoxious and violent of any sports fans anywhere. They and hooligan players will be going to hell in a handbasket, not to heaven – after they’ve all been out glassing and stabbing one another.

Soccer fans in heaven? Never. If only for appropriating the name “football”, and try to claim a continuity with traditional football games which have almost nothing in common with their GENTRIFIED sport.

Association football originates in English private schools, not the working class. They keep that one quiet.

[...] I like soccer. But Rugby League is okay. Tonight I watched my first League game for a while. The Bulldogs (the team I go for) were denied a last-ditch win by a stupid decision by the video ref to the Dragons. Ah well… still a great game! As exciting as the game was, the news this week in the Rugby League world that will be remembered will be about 4 Corners, Matt Johns, “Claire” from Christchurch, half the Cronulla Sharks team and the ‘consensual’ sex romp they had in 2002. Most of the Australian bloggers I read have commented on it. Below is a snippet from Phillip Jensen on “League Hypocrisy”. It’s brilliant. Go read the whole thing in full. [...]
