Here’s the deal. 2007 was Dave Miers’ year of the deadline-driven-life. It’s a new year and a new Dave. I have an essay due in over a month that I started yesterday!!! There were 10 essay topics to choose from for New Testament 1. I’ve narrowed it down to 4. I’ve done a bit of brainstorming for each, but can’t decide on which one to do.

Which one should I do and why? Vote in the comments.
- How does 1 Peter’s teaching about God relate to its treatment of Christian suffering?
- According to Ephesians, what is the significance of Jewish and Gentile reconciliation in Christ?
- Examine and explain the various metaphors for the church in Ephesians.
- Investigate the relationship of doctrine to practice in Ephesians.

Off the top of my head I would choose (1) Peter’s letter.
Personally, I’m amazed by the connection of knowing our salvation with living through suffering.
Number 4 would be a very practical topic though

If I was in first year again I would do number 2, and con just preached on it.

Any reason why you cut out all the Mark’s gospel options?

I like number 2.
But that’s probably just because it’s a topic I’ve thought about before. The other 3 don’t really leap out at me.
How big an essay is it? What’s it worth? How many words?

I think you should do an Ephesians one – selecting 3 of them sounds to me you are drawn to Ephesians. Which one? I’d go number 3: church. Reckon that would be really valuable, doing a study on the church in Ephesians.

we just had bishop donald robinson some to college. his life and work was celebrated. he’s got 13 essays on significance of jews and gentiles in volume 1 of his works… so number 2 is a strong possibility.
