    Signed up.
It says you will be able to sms with it, do you know more on that at all?

    yes i do.
it will cost money – but i think a reasonable rate.
good for a youth group to shoot a text to their whole group (or at least those registered with fervr).
it’s going to have some pretty sweet features.

i don’t think it should replace a youth group website (though in some cases it could)
and i definitely don’t think it should replace myspace/facebook – i think profiles of youth will be pretty basic on fervr…

anyway – stay tuned for more!!

I’ve been thinking about getting an sms service going for youth but it’s something I just don’t know where to start with.

I don’t even know of companies that do that and how much it costs and the like.

Are you informed about this stuff?

    google is the best bet…

go to http://morethandodgeball.com to find out what a youth group in the states are doing… (search josh’s site)

but it’s american… so you’ll just have to spend some time on google.

i quite like viral messaging… ie – you send a message to all leaders… who then forward it onto their small groups

all the online ones that are worth it… cost money… there are some free ones… but not enough for the quantity you’re talking!!

    peaceout

Luke – check out, for example, http://smsglobal.com.au (register with code ‘gobo’ for 225 free sms, after that its about 10c per sms)
