Sit near smart people a few hours before the exam. Listen to them discuss all their approaches to the coming exam and absorb that information through osmosis. Every now and then throw in a question and get them to riff on it. That’s how I survived first year exams. That and taking challenges to insert stupid things into essays.

been trying the smart people thing… so will keep trying it! i’m very tempted to insert stupid things… that’s always fun!!!

My tip is – stay clear of smart people. It just makes you depressed!
But also – it is never too late. It is amazing what your brain can remember short term.
