being a guitar player, this struck me recently … I was spending hours each night on guitar forums obsesing over which delay pedal to buy – looking at people pictures of their pedal boards, umming and ahhing over what to buy. There’s a whole ’boutique is better’ thing with guitarists, only that boutique costs a lot more $$$.

I realised that what I was doing was pretty much worship … thinking about it all the time, obsessing about it, talking about it a lot, planning on spending a good chunk of money on what is essentially a toy.

So I’ve repented.

I don’t really need a delay pedal anyway – I rarely use the effect in the church band and I’m not the Edge.
