It seems the “God can be funny” section is saying that God is funny when you see the whacky or stupid things “Christians” do. So it does not at all seem to be an antidote to suffering in anyway, and I don’t think Regina is claiming that. Imagine saying to someone in the midst of death and suffering, that God is funny because he can be the theme of some good jokes, or it’s fun to laugh at those fundies who say “he hates you”.

It doesn’t even seem to be claiming that God exists, nor does Regina seem to be talking God positively. It seems to be saying the best bit about God is that we can laugh about him at parties etc etc. That to me seems to be saying God doesn’t exist.

I could be wrong though
