It kind of sounds like it. When you linked to this from facebook I was expecting to see that the message of Christ is what is most humbling and pride smashing. I don't think you are saying "Don't be an arrogant jerk" and then you will smash pride, but rather Christ's death accomplishes that goal. But it sounds like Joshua Harris is making the two synonymous? I don't know why I'm confused. I feel I shouldn't be.
