Independent Church Planting in Australia

Steve Chong, Guy Mason, Mikey Lynch, Andrew Heard and Al Stewart are currently in Seattle at the Acts 29 Bootcamp/World Church Planting Summit. Here’s some exciting news from Mikey’s blog to follow up from the church planting conference last month:

Independent Church Planting in Australia

Room 338, Hotel Nexus, Seattle. It’s 12:20am Tuesday morning here. We’ve settled on something. Something that may, possibly, under God’s sovereign hand, define the next few decades of evangelical Christianity in Australia.

We will lead an independent, Australian church planting network, with warm friendship and support from Acts 29. We are building to a launch in Melbourne and Sydney in late November 2009. We’re agreed to move ahead with it and Acts 29 are keen to give their support to us.

It’s big and scary stuff. Next time we meet back in Australia, we’ve asked Al Stewart to lead a devotion with us on the topic of right, godly fear. (From here)

I feel it is a privilege to introduce myself as a Christian and a fellow laborer in his ministry. I learnt so many good things, and your sacred life for the perishing world.
Many people in this vast world live a prosperous life but only few people have the real joy in the plane of god as we all are brethren our joy and burden multiplies when share each other with that concept I always eager to share my thoughts with godly people whose thoughts are familiar with me
We are working among Hindu people showing Jesus love to the poor and needy and cripples widows in order to bring them in to the plane of god for the glory of god remember us in your daily prayers as we promise our prayers for your ministry to be blessed in a mighty way

  6. Dear…Sir …. Loving greeting to you in the most wonderful of lord Jesus Christ . it s such a joy to be able to write to you. I know that you been supporting me and the work that I am doing here in your prayers thank you so much. I want you to know that your prayer and financial support has meant a lot to me. Your financial support especially. Has come at the right time. It has helped me to meet my day to day needs. It has all so encouraged me very much to go forward in this task that the lord has placed upon my heart .i do remember you too in my personal prayer time before the lord. we also pray regularly for you in our team pray meeting s. I believe all is well with you and your loved ones. Please write and let me how you are doing. I would love to hear from you. If you have any prayer request. Please let me know. I will pray for you . I joined this church planting team in Kolkata at the beginning of this year. Earlier I was in Kolkata working through YWAM . here in Kolkata I am with this team which is a joint partnership between FGF and ywam I believe will God do great things through us. I am happy to let you know that our work among the Bengalis is progressing belive you know that the Bengali hindus are one of the largest un-reached people groups in the world they have also been very resistant to the gospel. But as we have prayed.we have felt god giving us promises that we will see break through among these people. We have begun our church planting work in an area outside Kolkata called matigara. It isa bengli area and almost totally un-reached. We invit you to join with us to pray and intercession. I believe the holyspirit will move in a mighty way among these people for bringing them to the kngdom of God. We would also like to request you to kindly invite your prayer group or fellow believers who are close to you to kindly unite with us in prayer for the work in this area in particular and for west Bengal in general. Once again. Want to praise God for you and for the heart you have to support me through your prayers, encouragement and finances. May the lord continue to bless and use you in the coming days Yours truly in the Lord.
