Is Posterous the future of blogging and social media?

I recently started experimenting with Posterous. I use it as a way of sharing twitter pictures and videos. It’s really quick & easy to use and it’s a tidy & attractive spot to store things. Here’s my posterous account: davemiers.posterous.com

Having now used it for a couple of weeks, I think it’s much more than just a place to store pics. “Posterous is the dead simple way to post everything online using email.”

They suggest that it’s good for 4 types of people:

  1. First timers
  2. Casual bloggers
  3. Social media pros
  4. Families and groups

I think they’re right! I’m probably #3, but I can think of plenty of ways that #1, #2 and #4’s could benefit from using it. It’s so simple – yet so effective!! You heard it here first – these guys are going to rock the suburbs. Check them out – (their help and faq pages are the goods too).

Let me know if you’re using it…

  1. Yeah, I use it. I love it. I’ve only really posted a couple of things to it. But it’s fantastic.

I would like it to include the ability to tag posts.

    My posterous is here.

  2. I’ve got the Just Google It thing automated with Picasa uploads.

Interesting. Now if it also does categories I’m going to be even more impressed.
