in breaking news, after 7 episodes of dan sitting on the right and dave on the left, this week they swapped!!! wow. they talk about their love for rangas. if you’re a ranga, or have a photo of you with a ranga, send it in for our new ranga gallery, launching next week.
yep. that’s right. you’ll have to watch to find out who. (but here’s a hint: air guitar runner-up dude named dale “redemption” kerrigan.) we talked about kyck. revelation 21. top 5 things to burn. shetland pony got another mention. don’t forget to send in your youth group shout outs.
Had a killer time with the Willoughby crew at KYCK 09. Highlights include: 1 person becoming a Christian; a number of them recommitted to follow Jesus; meals; Saturday late night discussion group over supper; an epic game of sardines on Saturday arvo; Qurious concert (vid); preaching from Ross Ciano and Scott Petty; playing ‘skip-it’ with the iPod in the car each trip; being reminded that Jesus is the victorious Lamb of God. Here’s a photo of our group (missing a few of peeps who left that morning).
I haven’t been to a KYCK since I became a Christian there in 1997. It was good to be back!! I also enjoyed hanging out with Scott and Ross. I had a crack at liveblogging the event. If you missed them, you can check out the replays: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Although we’ve already unofficially launched it during Monday’s Vodcast, fervr.net has now officially launched! The design looks great! I’m sure there will be some bugs they’ll discover – but get over there and hit it up! www.fervr.net
Throw some food out and they will swoop. Food is a good tool in youth ministry. If you run a Christian group in a school, bring hot chips and bread every week. If you run a youth group, kick off with dinner, finish with supper. If you’ve got a small group bible study, junk food is essential.
Food is a good way to break ice. It’s awkward trying to get a year 7 boy to stop running around and have a conversation. Put some food in his hand and it removes weirdness.
the tomb is empty… christ is risen! we talk about jesus. a new church that started in forster: www.coastec.net.au. john dickson’s new doco: www.thelifeofjesus.tv. soccer. camps. we can’t wait for fervr.net to officially launch – so we did it! shout out to the youth @ mbm rooty hill!!
dan forgot the camera. so we recorded from his computer. sorry about the buzz in the audio. dave was awake this week. last week we made it to number 1 in iTunes. yay. next episode is live on easter monday. 10am (EST sydney time). we had a live viewer in italy today! keep rocking.
Over the weekend, I was part of a killer conference for teenagers from the Townsville and Cairns region of Queensland. It was very good! Danny Mitchell from Youthsurge joined me for the trip, he is better than a game-show host! We had a great time.
There were a whole bunch of young crew that became Christian, and a bunch more recommitted their lives to following Jesus. Stay tuned for the talks. Here’s some twittering that I did over the weekend (reverse-chronological order):
