4 Youth Sermons on ROMANS 8

Romans is the Mt Everest of the Bible. Romans 8 is the Mt Everest of Romans. That means Romans 8 is pretty massive. Breathe-taking. Go read it. Seriously. In early March I got to hang out with a fantastic bunch of young punks from Holy Trinity and Trinity Bay in Adelaide, South Australia. We spent 4 days digging into Romans 8. What a great encouragement to see the hunger and maturity of the members of these youth ministries.

Here are the mp3s from the Romans 8 talks:

Romans 8 – Delivered
Romans 8 – Adopted
Romans 8 – Frustrated
Romans 8 – Loved

  1. We looked at Romans 8 during the night talks at PHAT this year in our Doctrines of Grace (Calvinism) series.
I agree, it’s such a good chapter, so much gold stuff in there it’s unbelievable!
Looking forward to listening to these talks you did, and if you get a chance definitely listen to Jono’s, especially his third one on predestination. It was all of the clearest, most helpful explanations I’ve heard all rolled into one solid talk. He also smashed the applications in that talk.

It’s amazing to see how God is still working through each Phat. Every year he teaches me again the importance of his Word as we see life after life changed by a week infused with so much Gospel. It was my first year leading and maybe my best Phat ever as I saw my Bible study group of the Year 7 girl fringe keen as to dig into the Bible together.

I feel like as far as all the Phats I’ve been to go, this one felt the most rightly-focused of them all. The games and theme were fun as usual, but the thing that my girls raved about was the TALKS, and it felt like an attitude that the whole camp was wrapped up in.

This reply has kind of turned in to a Phat recap – whoops!
But I guess I wanted to pass on that God is continuing to work powerfully through ev youth and the guys like Jono who you led and trained. For someone who invested so much in our youth group and left such a legacy, I’ll bet that’s a very exciting thing to hear.
