Concerns about Kony 2012
In the last 24 hours the Invisible Children KONY 2012 campaign has gone gangbusters. Social media unleashed. Lots of hits. Lots of awareness raised. Very easy to be caught up with helping to spread this cause. It’s encouraging to see young people long for justice.

I’ve read a number of concerns that have been raised about the campaign.
Matt Anslow, who works for TEAR, has a comprehensive post with some of his concerns. I haven’t checked them, but the bottom of his post has links to a stack of other articles.
Graham Stanton – who alerted me to Matt’s article – has posted a few helpful reflections this evening. Check them on his tumblr page.

Keep Running Up That Hill
Here is my March desktop wallpaper. I chose it while preparing my 2 Peter 1 sermon from the this past weekend. Nice little link to persevering in the Christian faith.
Here is the sermon:
Men Fighting Sin // Sermon MP3
We’ve recently run two men’s conference events at St Faith’s. It was encouraging to gather together with a bunch of men from across our different congregations. Ben Molyneux spoke on Men and Marriage in week 1; I spoke on Men Fighting Sin in week 2.

The basic structure of my talk came from Jonathan Dodson’s forthcoming book, Gospel-Centered Discipleship. As well as reflecting on a number of Bible passages, I used a number of John Owen quotes as a sparring partner in the challenge to fight against sin.
