Best of 2009 round 1: Albums. Round 2: iPhone Apps. I’ve had an iPhone for about 4 months. It really has been a handy productivity tool, and it also makes phone calls! The following are Applications that I use most days.
- Trip View Lite – super smart and super useful train (and bus + ferry) timetable. The paid version enables you to save your favourite trips. Triperrific.
- Dictionary.com – the best thing about this app is that you don’t need to be connected to the internet to use it. Also has a thesaurus. Wordelicious.
- Cash Trails – we enter spending into this app and then email it weekly as a spreadsheet. Good for keeping an eye on spending and budgeting. Cashtastic.
- Ultimate To Do – there are a billion ‘to-do’ apps. This one syncs with toodledo and follows the principles from David Allen and the GTD cult system. Just do it.
- ABC News + Media – good up-to-date news and other media from different ABC websites. ABC are leading the way in Oz in embracing new media. Sexy news.
Got an iPhone? What’s your #1 app??
Agree on the ABC app – very, very classy. I am impressed with it.
Bible (YouVersion) – many translations available. Great for the train commute each day.
BOMRadar – hey, I am a weather nut after all.
Facebook – very easy to use mobile interface for this highly addictive (and time-wasting) site.
UNO – addictive!!! I once filled in a whole 2 hour train trip playing this.
Weatherzone – best weather app available for the iPhone
Hmmm…obviously my ” ” tags for the last line got deleted…
I give up :P Should say “blatant plug” within mock HTML tags…
OK, enough spamming your blog now.
haha – nice convo with yourself matt!!!
youversion – it’s not working on my phone at the moment. i think it’s got some great interactive features. but i actually don’t really use a bible app. i use the mobile biblegateway.com and esv websites. much quicker and easier to copy text from. i’ll have a post in the new year comparing the different bible apps.
i use facebook – but i don’t think it’s a very good app.
uno – i’ve got 1 game on my phone. soccer. but don’t play it very much. don’t want more games to distract!
bomradar – is it helpful for storm chasing?
weatherzone – you should put out a lite version so cheap skates can give it a trial before committing the cash for it. convince me to get it… (i use the yahoo one, PWAU lite and i often go to wz mobile site)
BoMRadar – yes, it is helpful for storm chasing, when we ever actually get the chance to do that anymore! I hate to say it, but the radar part of the WZ app is not very user-friendly at the moment (it will improve in coming versions) so I mainly use this app to check the radar.
Weatherzone – yes, it very much is a work in progress. We may well put out a lite version in future…
