Jesus Life Culture Design finished last week. Good Riddance. In it’s place is something bigger, badder and bolder – BREAK IT DOWN! The aim is to do a weekly break down of stuff in the news, in culture and on this blog. It will have some similar gear that JLCD had, but a bit more in the way of culturey stuff, and a bit more variety too.
I’ve been listening to Nova 969 for the last couple of weeks, but think it’s time to switch back to Triple J. I like to listen to pop music and commercial stations to see what they’re playing, and hear what people are listening to, but can only ever do it for a limited amount of time! - RIGHT ROUND – Flo Rida Feat. Ke$ha – this is an annoying (+ a little rude) song – but it’s catchy. I think I like the original Dead or Alive 80s version better.
- LOVE STORY – Taylor Swift -representing the country music crowd
- YOU FOUND ME – The Fray – formulaic rock ballad
- GIVES YOU HELL – The All-American Rejects – described as ‘powerpop’ on myspace
- THE FEAR – Lily Allen – Pop-culture commentary. Anton and Mark Sayers have blogged on it.
- GET SHAKY – The Ian Carey Project – sweet break dancing in the film clip
- MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU – Kelly Clarkson – gold fish cruelty in the vid? what do you think?
- SOMEDAY SOON – Natalie Bassingthwaighte – the only Aussie in the top 10… longest last name outside of India or any of the -stan countries
- POKER FACE – Lady GaGa -music video clips are a weird genre of film!
