How to become a Christian

How do you become a Christian? What are the basics of the Christian faith? Here are 3 simple words of faith. They aren’t magical words. But saying these 3 words to God are a good first step in becoming a Christian.

3 Tips on How To Die Well from Abraham

I preached up at Coast Evangelical Church this past weekend. Reading Genesis 23-25, Abraham seems to be deliberate in his actions as he nears the end of his life. He dies well.

8 Steps to Crafting a Killer Wedding Sermon

Pete Ko has a great post with some sage advice for crafting wedding sermons.

Here are the 8 steps:

  1. Keep it short.
  2. Be realistic about your aims.
  3. Be winsome, humorous, and don’t be preachy.
  4. Try and steer clear of Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3 Biblical submission passages.
  5. Choose instead a passage that highlights marriage themes such as love, grace, commitment etc.
  6. Preach the gospel.
  7. Personalise the wedding sermon around the couple’s courtship and relationship.
  8. Did I mention, keep it short?
