Euthanasia has been in put back on the agenda in Australia. The Australian Greens Party have made it their number one issue to push through parliamentary debates in the Upper House and Lower House. The good news is that there has been a number of great articles intelligently opposing euthanasia in secular press.
Here are a few of them:
- Who is euthanasia really for? A letter from a loving son – By Michael Jensen
- Euthanasia question needs wider discussion – By Andrew Cameron
- Fight for life to the last breath – By Niki Savva
- Euthanasia from a palliative care doctor – By Megan Best
- UPDATED: Euthanizing fear: why it won’t work – By Andrew Cameron
Dave, don’t be rude. They aren’t communists – not even close (just ask any communist!) Nor is it going to get up (there’s a lot of inertia still within the two majors). The minor parties are always going to push for the “moral” topics because that’s the way they they get noticed.
hey steve,
i was being facetious, but thanks for the heads-up, so i have removed it, sorry for being rude.
i hope you’re right that it won’t get up.
interesting observation on the minor parties and “moral” topics. thanks for sharing.
peaceout amigo.
hehehe… activism works! wasn’t meaning to bully you. Just want to encourage a higher discourse :)
when i originally wrote it, i had in my head the line from keller (in this sermon http://davemiers.com/2010/08/08/arguing-about-politics-tim-keller-sermon/ ) about how having digs at Christians who vote differently to you can show a misunderstanding of the gospel.
hehehe… activism works!
