TRIP LEE // I’m Good Ft. Lecrae

I dig the work of Reach Records (see related posts) and have been really encouraged by the work of Voice of the Martyrs through the Australian youth initiative Thirteen Three (see related posts). So I’m really glad that the two organisations have joined forces in presenting the latest song off Trip Lee’s new album, I’m Good. The film clip below is confronting as it seeks to raise awareness for persecuted Christians. (WARNING MA15+ the end of the video is very graphic, if you are under 15 check with your parents before you watch).

Check out the I’m Good website. Part of the the proceeds from the song will support the work of VOM. Bound with them.

Sermon on Hosea 1-3

At St Faith’s (and Soulies) we are in the middle of a Bible overview series based on the structure from Vaughan Roberts’ book GOD’S BIG PICTURE (which itself is based on Graeme Goldsworthy’s framework). Here is a summary of the whole book. This past weekend I preached on Hosea 1-3 in part 5 of the series ‘The Prophesied Kingdom’.

Some really heavy going content on sin and judgement, but some amazing glimpses of hope and restoration through King David’s greater Son.

Dave Miers Sermon on Hosea 1-3 (right click etc to download)

Here is the structure of the sermon:

Context
1) The Story of Hosea is a Story of Judgement (Hosea 1:1-2:1)
2) God’s Punishment on Israel’s Unfaithfulness (Hosea 2:2-13)
3) What the Faithful God does to Woo Back His Wicked Bride (Hosea 2:14-3:5)
The PRICE has been PAID; Take the HAND of the HUSBAND; and CLING to the KING.

Time-Lapse + Stop Motion // Frameographer

Studio Neat are producing some great iPhone + iPad accessories. I recently picked up the Glif, Serif, and Ligature – it’s a mount so that you can attach an iPhone to a tripod. We’ve been producing lots of vids for Soulies using our phones, so it should come in really handy. Likewise, the Cosmonaut (wide-grip stylus for tablet devices) seems to be really useful. Finally, Frameographer is a cheap app that makes some great time-lapse and stop motion movies on your phone in HD. Here’s a quick test I did with the app + glif:

Postage was really quick. Check them out (read about their fresh approach to consumer products here). Have a rad weekend :)
