Shine, Jesus Shine

Last night we travelled into the big smoke for the Moore College Graduation. The talk was a cracker and it was super encouraging hearing what each of the grads are now up to as they preach Jesus in Sydney and beyond. It was fun to catch up with friends & family. I don’t go into the city often… so took some pics to document our excursion. Congratulations to my brother-in-law Martin.

Did you go? Did you enjoy the song the pipe organist played at the end?!?!

  1. Yeah, I started whistling the tune as I was walking out. Then I realised what I was doing and stopped.

  2. I didnt realise the tune until it was too late…but it is always an excitement for me to see graduates taing the gospel into all the world.

Numbers seemed down on last year though.

that tied in with the talk… the annoying song that is on the radio when you leave home in the morning… and then it gets stuck in your head!!!

benny you looked sharp last night…

i think you were sitting up in the rafters and there was someone near you doing actions!!!

but it is always an excitement for me to see graduates taing the gospel into all the world.

    uber-exciting

last year was the 150year anniversary… so i think there was a bit more hype and promo… maybe some people heard that there wouldn’t be moore college pens this year and decided not to come?

  5. let’s make it a competition…

    there’s a significant clue…

what do you think it was??

  6. Wow! I didn’t even know he was graduating! How did you manage to get a ticket?? Not that I could have gone anyway as I was packing my bags and heading for Heathrow airport at about that time …

  7. anyone can go!!

but we got special tickets from martin and jen so we could sti up the front.

  8. My bro in law graduated too, but we didn’t make it there this year. After a spate of family members graduating over the last few years, I think we’re done for a while!

Not sorry to have missed the exiting song – but have a bad feeling that evening reading the title of your post has put it into my head – which is NOT a good way to start the day.

  9. which is NOT a good way to start the day.

    hehehe!

bring back the 80’s i say! it was a great song… not sure how big it was in anglican circles… but it was big with the baptists!!!

  10. I’m assuming the song is “Shine Jesus Shine”? (I know, I know, I’m just making sure)

We sing that song at our church fairly frequently, and pretty much everyone likes it. So either we’re really hip Anglicans, or we’re really out of date Christians in general. I’ll have to get back to you on that.
