Hello Friends!

GOD IS ON THE MOVE

God has been so kind! One month into our Friday Night Gatherings, we can already see God’s hand at work. It has been a joy to see people welcoming one another into this new community, sharing good food, hearing God in the scriptures, and praying boldly that Jesus would be made known in Brisbane and beyond.

FRIDAY NIGHT GATHERINGS – March 4, 11, 18

THE ENGINE ROOM PRAYER – March 9

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” (Psalm 127:1a) The Engine Room is an opportunity to come together each month to earnestly pray that God would build something that lasts in and through City on a Hill: Brisbane.

Our first prayer night will be on Wednesday March 9 from 7-830pm at the Smith’s House in Hamilton (email brisbane@cityonahill.com.au for the address).

GOOD FRIDAY NIGHT GATHERING – March 25

Join us as we remember, rejoice and respond to the work of Christ on our behalf this Good Friday. Stay tuned for more details.

GOSPEL COMMUNITY LEADER LAB

God-willing, we will launch a number of Gospel Communities scattered across the City some time in April/May. These are communities of life, love and mission.

If you are interested in learning more about what it means to be a Gospel Community leader, even if you’re not ready to lead a group, please join us at our GC Leader Lab.

Sundays from 2-4pm. March 13 – Communities of Life. March 20 – Communities of Love. March 27 – Communities of Mission.

Thanks so much for your prayers, support and well wishes over the last week. Praise God we had a great week at our first FRIDAY NIGHT GATHERING! Really solid turn out, good food, great conversations, quality time in the word and expectant prayer for the mission ahead. Check out this short highlights video.

FRIDAY NIGHT GATHERING – WEEK 2

We are meeting again this Friday night (12 February). We’d love your ongoing prayers that God would continue to prepare us for knowing Jesus and making Jesus known in Brisbane.

ACTS 29 HEALTHY LEADERS CONFERENCE

City on a Hill is part of the Acts 29 church planting network. The upcoming national conference is taking place on the Gold Coast from 25-27 February. A number of people from City on a Hill: Brisbane are planning on attending. We’d love you to join us! The price goes up for the conference tomorrow… so today is a good time to register.

For those that can’t come to the whole conference, please come to the Friday night session (26 February). We have a significantly discounted rate (email brisbane@cityonahill.com.au for the discount code) for the evening.

The program is from 7-9pm, including a panel with Church Planters and preaching from Pastor Adam Ramsey. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to have coffee and desert with Pastor Guy Mason and other members of the City on a Hill Melbourne staff team.

Dear Friends!

2016 has arrived… and our family has also arrived in Brisbane! We love this great city and are so excited to see what God will do through City on a Hill: Brisbane as we seek to know Jesus and make Jesus known.

FRIDAY NIGHT GATHERINGS

To get the ball rolling we will begin gathering together on Friday nights during February.

February 5 – at our house in Nundah
February 12 – at our house in Nundah
February 19 – at our house in Nundah

February 26 – if you’re available we’d love you to come down for the Friday night session of the Acts 29 Healthy Churches Conference on the Gold Coast (likewise, the whole conference will be excellent if you can make it.)

FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHT PLAN

HANG OUT from 5:00pm

No worries if you can’t make it this early! If you can make it, it will be a great opportunity to unwind after the week, get to know others over a cold drink. You can also cool off in the swimming pool.

DINNER from 6:00pm

We’ll be sharing dinner from 6pm and if you’re able to help provide food on the night, please let us know via brisbane@cityonahill.com.au

GATHERING from 6:45pm

This will be a significant time as we open God’s word, pray for the city, hear more about the vision ahead and continue getting to know one another. We’ll have a kids program running during this gathering.

KICK-ON from 7:45pm

For those who don’t need to get home (to get kids to bed etc) we will kick on! On different weeks this will include: hanging at our house, going into the City, heading to the movies, etc.

WHEN DREAMS COME TRUE – THE STORY OF JOSEPH

When Dreams Come True is the new series by City on a Hill exploring the final chapters of Genesis that tell the extraordinary story of the life of Joseph.

From pit to palace, Joseph’s life is marked by uncertainty, betrayal and grief, yet remarkably he trusts God who is with Him and weaves all things together according to His plans.

City on a Hill: Brisbane will be joining in with the rest of City on a Hill (Melbourne, Melbourne West & Geelong) in teaching through Genesis 37-50 and the life of Joseph. This will begin at our first Friday Night Gathering on Feb 5. View the trailer online.
