Soli Deo Gloria.
I think you should call your child geoffc, in honour of me.
It’d be pronounced “jefk”
nice for a girl or a boy, don’t you think?
i had to double take, i thought that said ‘jerk’
I understand, cos that’s how you mispronounce my name…
It’s a mispronouncement….right?
yes yes of course
well, personally, i’d spell Ava as Eva, but hey, thats just the top ones. I’d go gabriella for a girl. i like it. Dont ask me about guys names though!
(though my one piece of advice would be not to call a boy ‘jerk’ =P)
Hahaha – ‘download day’
I like elijah for a boy :)
the kid called geoffc reminds me of a couple we used to go to church with who, with the best of intentions, called their daughter Jcia. Pronounced “jessa”, it was meant to be an acronym for Jesus Christ Is Alive.
I’m all for people keeping Deuteronomy 6 in mind, but it’s another thing altogether for giving your kid a lifetime of, “how do you spell that?!?!”
also, you should totally begin your child’s name with a hash. #child
@totman – thanks for the tip. i’ve now crossed off jerk!!
@cj – hehe
@alex – doesn’t go with out last name
@fitzy – that’s a classic!!! maybe icthus would be a good one too!?!? good call on giving the kid a permanent hashtagging!!!
How about those non gender-specific names like Jordan, Cameron, Kierren, Jesse, Alex etc…
On a completely unrelated note; Dave have you seen those ‘6 Beers of Seperation’ ads, where they say which celebrities they want to meet? One of the them totally says Dave Miers, no joke!
hey joel.
thanks for the ideas!
thanks even more for the heads up on the 6 beers of separation thing!!! i actually heard that ad on friday night at my parents’ house – i did a double take – but didn’t know what the ad was…
i might get that snippet and blog it… thanks for the tip joel!!!!
high point for me was fitzy calling geoffc a “kid”…very insightful
as for names pubert has always been a personal favourite
#1 – Mike
A little close to Mike Myers but… hey, it’s quality
high point for me was fitzy calling geoffc a “kid”…very insightful
The Fountainside sucks
geoffc/jerk you got the wrong sam! It’s not the fountainside one, but the slow one…
Sam Low? What’s he doing on blogs?…..bah!
dmdc is sam low’s fav website on the whole internet.
I’m surprised no one has suggested Barack… Barack Miers flows doesn’t it?
what about Barrack O’Miers?? now that flows!!
I like the name
Seth for a boy
and
Joy for a girl
