While watching the New Attitude 2008 Conference video (see it below – it’s a good vid), I was reminded of Humble Orthodoxy. I’ve posted on it before.

Josh Harris preaches a message I need to keep hearing. Now that I’m hanging out with Anglicans more, it’s a message that they need to hear too! There are Reformed Evangelical Christians who are so dogmatic about the truth, that they fail to love. Arrogant Orthodoxy is ugly. Humble orthodoxy is “a commitment to believe, live, and represent biblical truth with humility.”
If you are a pastor or pastor-in-training, whether you think you’re arrogant or not, please, for the Glory of Jesus, listen to this word and embrace Humble Orthodoxy.
Keith Condie ripped it to bits today in chapel with a sermon on Psalm 101. Some good things on what it meant for King David and what it now means for us this side of the death and resurrection of Jesus. He mentioned a letter written by John Piper in 1984 called “Missions and Masturbation” that almost got him fired!!

In his Passion 07 sermon, How to Deal with the Guilt of Sexual Failure for the Glory of Christ and His Global Cause, Piper makes reference to that letter. The letter was very blunt and the sermon is very good!
South Coast Revolution is a brand new combined youth event being run in the Nowra area. I will be speaking at their first event on June 13. They have borrowed lots of ideas from Coast Youth Revolution – which is cool!

As a teenager I read a soccer magazine that had the same tagline at the end of each editorial: Soccer is life, the rest is just details. I used to believe that, but now I believe that Jesus is life and the rest is just details!

Soccer may no longer be number 1 – but there are some killer soccer vids on youtube!! Check out the vid below – some of the moves may even be real!!
