A River With No End // Ghost Ship
Ghost Ship are a rootsy/bluesy band from Mars Hill Church. I’ve had their recent EP on repeat for the last few weeks. I dig the opening track – One God – with its call to turn from idols and serve the True and Living God. My favourite track is The Revelation of Jesus Christ – it’s more or less straight from Revelation 21 with an accompanying banjo to boot.
You can listen to the whole EP for free on Bandcamp. You can also get free copies of lyrics and chord charts etc. I listened to it lots of times before purchasing it. Because I really liked it, I paid $6 instead of the asking price of $3. Generous, I know.
Free Download from LIVING DEVOTION
LIVING DEVOTION is the latest album from the St Paul’s Castle Hill music team. I like it. It’s a stripped back live recording, with some great tracks. They are currently offering a free download of the track TAKE OVER NOW via their Facebook Page.
Also check out the website for resources (guitar charts etc) and some videos of the songs from the recording.
Familiar with the album? What’s your favourite track? I think mine is So We Would Know Our God.
Missing Person – Mike McCarthy
‘Missing Person’ is the first video from Mike McCarthy’s single ‘In Ages’ (2011). Produced by Frederic Dickerson, on location in Alaska, the clip shows a beautiful sparsity that adds to the music and performance of the music. Download the audio at inages.bandcamp.com
I dig it, it’s beautiful. Personally, I think I like the rawness of the earlier film clip better:

Music Appreciation Night – Song List
Row proposed that we have a night of square-dancing to finish our term together as a Small Group. Luckily we didn’t do square dancing. Instead we had a ‘Music Appreciation Night’. It was so much fun. Each person in our group had to have 2 songs prepared (with another 2 backups) to play for the rest of the group. It was cool to hear different songs and be introduced to music for the first time.
Before each song was played we introduced it to the group, made a few comments afterwards, took further questions or comments and then moved on to the next person. We basically did two laps of the room.
Here are the songs from each round:
