Twitter Revolution

It has arrived. I’ve reported on its impending arrival here and here. I’ve heard it talked about on a bunch of radio stations, seen it spoken about on TV, noticed increasing integration into Australian websites and personally have it mastered. It’s no longer just an American thing. What am I talking about? Twitter. What are you doing?

  1. Whats with the mobile phone element to it, does that cost you? And do I get messages from everyone who posts an item, how does that element work. I just dont wanna sign up, and then have everything cost $4 Million bucks

  2. hey steve.
When i first used it to get bible verses to my phone 3 years ago it was free. They stopped supporting mobiles in australia. So at moment, i just go onto the mobile edition of the website. http://m.twitter.com
Most phones come with data use each month. I only get 20Mb per month, but can still check email, fb, and twitter without using much bitage.

  3. yep. rhys got me onto ping.fm
    i use the mobile version.

but there are plenty of ways to skip ping and just get twitter to sync with facebook… who uses myspace anymore!

twitter have just released a much better mobile site too…. although it doesn’t always stay logged in on my phone which is annoying.

thanks for the comments tweet peeps.

  4. yeah i find the same thing with mobile twitter.
i think whenever you log on from another IP it resets the sessions

yeah myspace is only good for music
do you find teens still use it dave? if so, would you use it to connect with them?

  5. i think that teens are still on myspace… but even they are now coming over to facebook.

so i keep an account active… but not much is happening there. but having ping change my status on faebook makes it look like i’m using it!

i agree that myspace is still the place for music. that’s its roots… and it looks like it will help it live for at least a bit longer – faebook can’t possibly do what myspace does for music… at the moment…

    peaceout

  6. yea, its so easy for a new band just to make a small myspace page, upload some songs, invite every person on myspace, and if there songs are good, they’ll be known pretty quick.

as for twitter, i still think fb status updates are way more effective. only like 15 ppl see my twitter updates.

Twitter is like fb, but only with status updates, so i think it will be limited in the number of users it could grasp, compared to a site like facebook.

  7. it’ll be interesting to see where it goes in aus.
ther’e s significant uptake in australia – that will be increased when they re-intro the mobile phone sms stuff for free.
triple j and other abc radio and web – they are getting people to do song requests and feedback via twitter not facebook.

that’s the cool thing about syncing together – you can get the best of both worlds.

mars hill church have been doing some cool stuff.
some of the youth ministry guys in the states i know – they do some cool twitter stuff on a mass scale too…

    we’ll see what happens…

rhys – let’s lead the way!!!

  8. Mmm. the only prob stopping me from using it more is my blog i think.

See if i favorite a youtube vid, it shows up in the side feed. so then if i twitter it as well it shows up twice! I think ill just have to get over that and do it!

ok lets start the club, “aus twitter rockers”! woooot
