Pinch + Punch // October 2010

This normally happens on the 1st day of the month, this month it’s the 2nd. Sorry. It’s crazy crazy essay-fest this long weekend. It’s also the start of daylight savings – bring it, I look forward to Sam waking at 6am instead of 5am! In just over a week the date will be 10.10.10 – that’s pretty cool for the maths lovers; it also makes for a good date for a promotion or launch. Here’s my new Smashing Mag desktop for the month:

Ich kann mir nichts kreativ zu übersetzen diese Woche denken. Entschuldigt.

Pinch + Punch // September 2010

Hey punks. It’s September. I was bored by the desktop calendars this month over at SmashingMag, so I found the one below over at pixel girl presents. Nice.

Here’s the best of August (according to clicks) and some other stats:

July has kinda been a blur. I’m now over the sleep deprivation from the month-long World Cup; I think Spain played well and deserved to beat the Netherlands, but I also think that Germany and Argentina played well AND also scored lots of goals. Tip for 2014 World Cup? Australia to beat Brazil in the final. Germany to beat Nigeria in the 3rd place play-off… you heard it here first! I’ve been able to speak at some great camps and events throughout the month; I’ve really enjoyed meeting lots of young punks keen to follow Jesus with their life. Irrelevanten Wörtern zu füllen dieses Absatzes ein.

July also witnessed my first broken bone, an amusing academic injury! August has now kicked off, what a beautiful day in Sydney!! I’ve got a light speaking load this month. We’ve just begun Romans at college; no exam, just an essay. I appreciate the time to learn from the book without the stress of an exam at the end. Above is my selection from a pretty lame set of August Desktop Wallpapers from Smashing Magazine.

Pinch + Punch // July 2010

This is another example of a back-dated post because the end of June has been fairly hectic. It included: exams; Sam’s 1st birthday; preaching; camps; and a ridiculous number of World Cup football matches!! I’m sad that there’s only 4 games left, but very glad that I can have a bit more sleep again! If you’re planning on watching any of the final 4 games, make sure you pray at half-time for the 2 countries playing.

July is good. I’m enjoying the crisp winter weather, another camp, and looking forward to time off. Above is my choice of the July Smashing Mag Desktop Wallpapers.

Germany for the win!!

Pinch + Punch // June 2010

During summer, I had an “embracing summer” policy. It just meant I wouldn’t ever complain about the heat, but rather seek to enjoy it. I’m doing the same (or kinda the opposite!) this winter. I’m “embracing winter”. This means I won’t complain about the cold, wet or darkness; but rather enjoy this season in its time. If I complain about something to do with winter and you hear it – you have permission to slap me. Deal?

The high light of June will definitely be the FIFA Football World Cup held in South Africa. During the 1998 World Cup, my trial HSC was significantly impacted by late nights watching soccer matches. This year I have 2 exams at college during the world cup… good luck studying! This month’s Smashing Mag Wallpaper is the better of the 2 soccer related ones (see above). Australia for the win!

Here’s the best of May (according to clicks) and some other stats:

Pinch + Punch // May 2010

Lots of my recent blog posts have been back-dated. This is no exception. Today is May 3, but I’m pretending it’s May 1. Sneaky sneaky. April has been fairly hectic. Good hectic. Really thankful for lots of opportunities to talk to people about Jesus. May will be a little less hectic, but still hopefully good! Below is my pick of the Smashing Mag May Wallpapers.

Praying Christian friends/readers: I’m currently talking to different churches/ministries about possible work for next year. I’d appreciate your prayers. Non-Christian friends: praying you’d come to know Jesus. This vid would be worth your time. Trust me.

Pinch + Punch // April 2010

This is definitely in the top two Pinch + Punch blog posts. Wow. Some cool things coming up in April. However, the April Smashing Magazine Desktop Wallpapers are pretty lame. I’ve chosen the Revolution one below. It doesn’t look that good and the calendar has nothing on it to differentiate the different days. Dumb.

I chose it because it’s a reminder of a Bible series I’ve done about 6 times in the last year or so, and hopefully it will remind me to be ‘radially changed by the good news of Jesus’. I did the series most recently in the Riverina and I’ll be doing it in a couple of weeks with MBM Youth. Some major changes/tweaks coming for the series. I’m hoping to turn it into a free e-book for youth later in the year. We’ll see…

April is also the month for KYCK. It sounds like it’s going to be the biggest one ever, my tip is 6000 young peeps!!! I’m really excited to be preaching there. I’ll be giving the Saturday night evangelistic talk. I’ve given the talk a couple of times already and been given some really useful feedback from a preacher friend. If you’re a Christian – I’d appreciate your prayers. If you’re not a Christian – check out this crazy website.

Here’s the best of March (according to clicks) and some other stats:

I enjoyed the Haiku poetry anthology in the comments last month. How about we try Limericks this month?? Leave one if you’re feeling creative or bored… Thanks.
